Never forget the systematic class hierarchy system within the USA and how it intersects with Race, Gender, Sexuality, Religious beliefs, Ableness, and Looks.

The purpose of this blog is to create a space where people can come to reflect on and learn about the ways in which we, as humans, formulate our identities and how we then, in turn, relate to one another placing huge value and inscribing all manner of meaning to those identities. It is my hope that this blog at the least will spark discussion and critical thought about how we relate and view others. And at most it is my hope that this blog will help individuals see one another and recognize the totality of their identity and personhood within those identities without ascribing assumed meaning to those identities.

I love this song and it sort of encapsulates the goal of this blog. as Buckley puts it, “This is a song about…it’s an angry song. Life’s too short and too complicated for people behind desks and people behind masks to be ruining other people’s lives, initiating force against other people’s lives, on the basis of their income, their color, their class, their religious beliefs, their whatever..” So I hope you enjoy this song and what I hope will become an active blog.
